Captain's Log

After a very minimal amount of golf during January and February due to the snow and ice, the captain’s drive in April saw the focal point to the beginning of the golf year and the first competition off the white tees.

The Captains charities of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and MacMillan Nurses benefitted from the sweepstake on the distance of the respective captains drives. The lady captain duly drove onto the 18th green some 30 ft from the hole. The men’s captain, however, was some way behind this, but it is the taking part that counts!

The captains would like to thank all who have taken part and the splendid condition of the course and greens from the works of the green maintenance team over the winter. They are looking forward to welcoming the teams from The Westerwood, Forest Pines, Telford and Aldwark for the Q Cup later in the year and hope to maintain the tradition of the winners coming from the home course!

Jennie Rathbone : Lady Captain
